Interview with Mihai Tristariu (Romania 2006):  The Eurovision Song Contest 2006 came from Athens, Greece, and was won by some Monsters from Finland called Lordi and the song "Hardrock Hallelujah". Romania was represented by young Mihai Tristariu with the song 'Torneo" which catapulted up to Number 4 during the Voting sequence. It was Romania's second highest result at the Eurovision Song Contest only bettered in 2005 with Luminita Anghel & Sistem "Let me try" and also in 2010 with Paul Seling and Ovi 's "Playing with Fire" coming 3rd. Mihai's Eurovision entry in 2006 "Tornero" became a world hit in 2006 and he tried many times to return to Eurovision in competing in the Romanian National Final. Salman and JP were at the recent edition of the Eurovision Club Germany's annual Convention 2024 on Saturday, 23 Nov 2024 and chatted with Mihai about his time at Eurovision and his career before and after Eurovision. The Home Composed Song Contest is in its 33rd year, this is a competition for Eurovision fans who write, perform and produce their own music, who enter their own original song composition (audio only) and then also take part as a jury, to help choose the winning song. This year there are 28 songs from 13 different countries, and you can listen to the songs, and read the lyrics and bios on the official website - click here

The Radio International Team once again formed one Jury and you will be able to hear the songs also on Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience. Once again very high standards this year. Well done to all participants and may the best entry win.

Starting this week Radio International will introduce the first lot of songs of the Home Composed Song Contest 2024.

The results should be published on 08 December 2024. Details where and when will be published here.
