Melodifestivalen is Sweden's national televised music competition to find the best new song of the year. The winner of the competition then goes on to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. Twenty-eight acts go through four Semi Finals and a Second Chance round before the top twelve go into the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2020, held once again at the Friends Arena in Solna (near Stockholm) in front of a live audience of almost 30000 spectators, plus millions of TV viewers both in Sweden and abroad.

Since 2009, Radio International has been present each year at the Melodifestivalen Grand Final rehearsals and interviews the artists, the producer and the hosts. This year there is more as also two Semi Finals are covered and the Melodifestivalen 2020 Roadshow stopped at the Eurovision 2013 Venue - the Malmoe Arena for Semi Final 4.

Eurovision 2013: Interview with Carola

The Eurovision Song Contest 2013 takes place in Malmoe, Sweden.  It is the 58th edition of the contest after Loreen won the contest 2012 in Baku for Sweden with "Euphoria".

Carola is celebrating 30 years as an artist. She has participated in Eurovision Song Contest three times and she won 1991 in Rome. The year after the contest was held in Malmö, as this year.
We did an interview with Carola and she gave some advice to Marie, 9 years. Together they are singing "Fångad av en stormvind" from 1991.
Carola participated in Eurovision for the first time in 1983 with "Främling" 1983. Second time, 1991, she won "Fångad Av En Stormvind".
Last time was in Athens 2006 with "Invincible" (Evighet) where she came 5th in the final.
