The Radio International Holiday Schedule 2026:

As most members of Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience are taking their well-earned late summer vacation in the South of Europe for the next four weeks there are special programmes that JP together with the colleagues will be presenting to you. See below what is coming up this week and the following three weeks. The normal format of Radio International continues on 14 October 2026. But in the meantime enjoy the shows coming up.

Each week in the first hour JP will introduce some new releases by Eurovision Artists. There will be the Eurovision Calendar with Javier Leal, The National Final update with Alain Forotti, The Eurovision Birthday File and Eurovision Coverspot with David Mann - all in the first hour. Hours 2, 3 and 4 will each be Eurovision Spotlight XXL hours with special themes. Details are listed below.

Interview with Lindsay Dracass (United Kingdom 2001) & Hera Björk (Iceland 2010 & 2024):  at LondonHagen 2026:  At the 2026 edition of LondonHagen in London, United Kingdom not only artists from 2026 were invited but also Eurovision Royalty was present to perform their Eurovision entry and more. A huge fans' favourite is Hera Björk who represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with "Je ne sais pourquoi" and also in 2024 with "Scared of Heights". Also in 2009 Hera Björk tried her luck in the Danish National Final with the song "Someday" which came second to Brink who then represented Denmark at Eurovision in that year. Hera performed her songs to the international fan base at LondonHagen 2026 and also Lindsay D (Dracass) was invited to LondonHagen 2026 kind of on home ground there. Lindsay represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with the song "No dream impossible" coming 15th. Like Here, Lindsay has been to many Eurovision Fan events to entertain the many international fans with Eurovision Songs. So well to see how the Eurovision fans old and new are embrassing the Eurovision artists. Listen to this joint interview on the show this week. 

 

 

Galant (German National Final 2024) at OGAE Germany 2026 Convention

Interview with Galant (German National Final 2024):  In 2024, Germany selected their entry to the Eurovision Song Contest by the national final format called Eurovision Song Contest - Das Deutsche Finale 2024 which was won by Issak with the song "Always on the run" and with that represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest. The Radio International interview guests on the show this week aare members of the group Galant that competed in the German Final with the song "Katze" coming 5th. Galant were guests on the  OGAE Germany Convention 2026 in Munich, Germany earlier on in January 2026 and Salman and JP took the chance to conduct an interview with Galant you'll hear on the show this week. 

The Eurovision Spotlight - The Magic Letter Game: As summer has officially arrived on the northern hemisphere of the globe it means that it is also time for the summer feature for the next few weeks. The summer feature is the Magic Letter Game involving Eurovision Songs which you will be presented by the Radio International Team of Experts :). Chris Poppe continues the summer series with Letter L and will explain the Rules of the Game.

Eurovision News, New Song Releases, Birthday File, Coverspot, Eurovision Calendar: Also JP will be joined by David Mann for the Eurovision Birthday File and Eurovision Coverspot.  Javier stands in for Nick and will be presenting the Eurovision News courtesy of escXtra.com. Bandidos do Cante (Portugal 2026)

Interview with Bandidos do Cante (Portugal 2026): Radio International's blind colleague Alain Forrotti and Newscaster Johannes had the pleasure to meet and interview the Winners of Festival da Cancao 2026 and Portugal's representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 - Bandidos do Cante who performed the song "Rose" which unfortunately did not qualify for the Grand Final of the competition ending up at Number 12 in Semi Final 1. Beautifully performed with great voice harmonies. Listen to the interview with the group on the show this week. 

Klemen (Slovenia 2025) with JP at LondonHagen 2026

Interview with Klemen (Slovenia 2026): In 2025, Slovenia was represented by the very talented singer / songwriter  / comedian / show host Klemen Slakonja (stage name Klemen) with the song "How much time do we have left". Unfortunately, Slovenia ranked Number 13 in Semi Final 1 of the Eurovision Song COntest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. The Interview Team of Radio International, Marc, Salman and JP met Klemen at the Eurovision Club Germany's annual convention in November 2025 and interviewed him on his participation at Eurovision and his profession in Slovenia. Eurovision Winner 2011 Edar Gasimov for Azerbaijan 
at the OGAE Germany Convention 2026

Interview with Eurovision Winner Edar Gasimov (Azerbaijan 2011):  The Eurovision Song Contest 2011 came from Düsseldorf in Germany with Azerbaijan winning the contest with El (Eldar) & Nikki from Azerbaijan with the song "Running Scared". The following year he co-hosted the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest for which he trained for in Germany. Besides of that he speaks fluently German. Eldar was part of the OGAE Germany's Convention 2026 in January in Munich, Germany. JP and Salman had the pleasure to chat with Eldar about his Eurovision adventure and about his career. Interview with Satoshi (Moldova 2026):  After a year's break Moldova came back with a bundle of energy to the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with Satoshi and the song "Viva Moldova" which in fact opened up the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 being the first song in Semi Final 1. Part of Satoshi's performance was also previous Eurovision entrant Aliona Moon who in 2013 reached Number 11 with the song "O Mie". The Radio International Interview Team met Satoshi at the Turquoise Carpet of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna for a quick chat which you can hear on the show this week.

Interview with Silke (Norsk MGP 2026): As part of the Melodifestivalen Grand Final Weekend 2026 in Stockholm, Sweden, the Swedish Eurovision Fanclub organise the annual MelFstWknd with a number of Swedish and international Eurovision artists performing for the many fans that have arrived the the Swedish capital. This year Silke was one of the international acts who was invited to perform her entry she competed with in Norway's National Final the Norsk Melodi Grand Prixin the  Number 9 at MelFstWknd 2026

Interview with AleXa (Melodifestivalen 2026, Heat 5 & Winner of the American Song Contest 2022 - Oklahoma):  Also at the MelFstWknd 2026 was AleAa who competed in Melodifestivalen 2026 in Heat 5 with the song "Tongue Tied" and she won the American Song Contest 2022 with the song "Wonderland" represeting the US State Oklahoma. JP had a big pleasure chatting with AleXa which will be shared on this week's edition of Radio International.
