Prior to the show a Press event was organised by the production company and Radio International met some of the participating artists for a short interview you can hear on the show this week and in the weeks to come.

Interview with Eldar Gasimov of Ell and Nikki (Azerbaijan 2011): "Het grote Eurovisie Song Festval" TV show took place on 15 December 2019 and one of the many Eurovision Winners invited was Eldar Gasimov of Ell and Nikki who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Duesseldorf, Germany with the song "Running Scared". Eldar came without Nikki and performed the song in the concert with Marlayne (Netherlands 1999) standing in for Nikki. As the rule is that the country that wins the Eurovision Song Contest will be the host nation the following year. So in 2012 the contest came from Baku in Azerbaijan where Eldar was co-host. Radio International's JP together with Salman Tanzem had the pleasure to meet Eldar after her rehearsal in Amsterdam and conducted an interview which you can hear on this week's edition of Radio International.
