Through the Summer 2023 with Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience:  The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 was staged in Liverpool last May with Sweden's Loreen winning the contest for a second time after her victory in 2012 with the song "Euphoria". Her winning song for 2023 is "Tattoo". Radio International has still a number of interviews from the contest and the pre-events which will be shared during the next few summer weeks of 2023.

This week we have interview clips with Linda Wagenmakers (The Netherlands 2000),  Monika Linkyte (Lithuania 2023), Iru (Georgia 2023) Bragi (Iceland National Final 2023) and from the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2023 there is Giada.

Linda Wagenmakers represented The Netherlands in thr Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with the song "No Goodbyes". Radio International's JP met Linda at the recent edition of J'aime la Vlie 2023 earlier on in July 2023 and conducted an interview which will be on the show this week. Linda talks about Eurovision, her favouites and her career as a Musical star.

Also JP will be joined by David Mann for the Eurovision Birthday File and Eurovision Coverspot. The Eurovision News courtesy of escXtra.com with Nick van Lith. The Eurovision Spotlight is presented by Alasdair Rendall as the series continues through the summer of 2023 - the Double 3s.

Patricia Bredin (United Kingdom 1957)

Tribute to Patrica Bredin (United Kingdom 1957):  Earlier in the week Radio International received the sad news of the passing away of Patricia Bredin at the age of 88. Patricia was the very first United Kingdom representative at the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1957 with the song "All" . Radio International takes a look back at her music and life in our tribute to Patrica Bredin.

Patricia Bredin's performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 1957 in Frankfurt, Germany, with the song "All", created 3 important landmarks: 1. It was the UK’s first entry at Eurovision; 2. It was the first song ever sung in the English language at Eurovision; 3. It was the shortest song ever to make it to a Eurovision Grand Final. Coming in at just under 2 minutes (1 min and 52 secs), (although Finland actually entered a shorter song, "Aina mun pitää", just 1 min and 27 secs long, in 2015, which didn’t progress beyond the semi finals, in 2015!).
