New York City in Euphoria - 16 November 2013 - Annet Artani (Cyprus 2006) to co-host the show

Europhoria has been reinventing the night scene in New York since December 2012, when this unique concept was launched. This new Europhorian trend has been well received by American, Euro-Foreigners and tourists, who have been dancing, and raising their flags in the heart of New York.

This new emerging nightlife trend will introduce new up-beat dance music, as well as powerful ballads from the greatest and most talented European performers. Traditionally, each Eurovision act uses the 3 minutes it’s been given to show powerful vocals, colorful staging, great chorography and some fun gimmicks! Throughout the long history of Eurovision, we’ve seen drag queens, transsexuals, flight attendants, pirates, sailors, monsters, and lots of divas.

Europhoria: Celebrating Eurovision music and European culture (in association with CCC inc) will take place
  • on 16 November 2013 from 1600 - 2100 hours New York Time
  • at The Stellan Lounge (2 west 35th street)
DJ OhRicky, North America's favorite Eurovision DJ, will keep you entertained with the hottest Eurovision beats, live performance videos and interactive screens! Warm up for the Saturday night with friends by introducing them to the Eurovision phenomenon.

Food and drink specials will be available throughout the party. European themed giveaways in raffles throughout the evening.

Don't be a stranger. European or not, you will love this tacky late afternoon extravaganza.

"Expect lots of glitter, sequins and epic pop anthems." (TimeOut New York)

This contest launched a music career to many artists such as Abba, Celine Dion, France Gall, Olivia Newton John, Ofra Haza, Cliff Richards, Julio Iglesias, Katrina and the Waves, and many more.

For those of you who don't know: the Eurovision Song Contest is an annual competition held among many of the active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union. Each member country submits a song to be performed on live television and radio and then casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine the most popular song in the competition. It is one of the longest running TV programs in the world! It is also one of the most watched non-sporting events in the world, with audience figures having been quoted in recent years as anything between 100 million and 600 million internationally. More than 1,200 songs already took part in the Eurovision Song Contest. Most winning songs were performed in English.
