Melodfestivalen 2026: In
view of the upcoming Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2026 in the
Strawberry Arena in Solna near Stockholm, Radio International this week
will be introducing all the songs in the running order in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2026 on 07 Mar 2026.
For that JP will be joined by Robert Wahlström from Sweden.
The Heats are scheduled as follows:
Heat 1: 31 Jan 2026 - Linköping - Saab Arena
Heat 2: 07 Feb 2026 - Gothenburg - Skandinavium
Heat 3: 14 Feb 2026 - Kristianstad - Kristianstad Arena
Heat 4: 21 Feb 2026 - Malmö - Malmö Arena
Heat 5: 28 Feb 2026 - Sundsvall - Gärdehov

Congratulations
to Smash Into Pieces and Cimberly winning the Heat 4 of
Melodifestivalen 2026 out of the Malmö Arena on Saturday, 22 Feb 2026. Smash Into Pieces were
the first winning act being announced after the first voting round.
They will be competing in the Grand Final with the song "Hallow". Cimberly and her song "Eternity"
won the second round of voting and also has won and secured herself a
place in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 20026 in the Strawberry
Arena of Stockholm, Solna. The favourite to also win the Heat was Meira Omar with the song "Dooset Daram"
came third and is with that in the Final Kval round of the competition
and has a chance to advance into the Grand Final after Heat 5. JP has
been in Malmö and conducted interviews with all participating acts of
which you will hear some this week and some next week on Radio International. This week listen to longer interviews with the winners of Heat 4, Smash into Pieces, Cimberly and also Erika Jonsson who unfortunately did not advance.

Interview with Smash Into Pieces: Heat 4 of Melodifestivalen came from Malmö on 22 Feb 2026 with Smash Into Pieces winning the first round of voting and then Cimberly became the winner of the second round of voting while Meira Omar advanced to the Final Kvalification Round of Melodifestivalen 2026. Radio International's JP and Tanja from ESC Panelen met two of the members (Ben and Per) of Smash Into Pieces for a more indepth interview before the competition. The group exists since 2008 and already successfully qualified for the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen twice with "Six feet under" coming 4th and then in 2024 with "Heroes are Calling" coming third. This year Smash Into Pieces could successfully qualify for the third time for a place in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2026 with the song "Hallow".

Interview with Cimberly: The Winner of the second voting round in Heat 4 of Melodifestivalen 2026 is debutant Cimberly with the song"Eternity". Cimberly won Swedish Idols 2023 and is well known in Sweden and together with a great song she qualified herself for the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2026. Radio International's JP and Tanja from ESC Panelen met Cimberly for an indepth interview before the Heat 4 competiton. Enjoy this bubbly lady in an interview on the show this week.

The Eurovision Spotlight - The Eurovision National Final Season: The
New Eurovision Year 2026 has started and with that also the National
Final Season for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is in full swing with
countries selecting their entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. JJ won
Eurovision 2025 and with that Austria will host the
Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in the Wiener Stadthalle on 12 and 14 May
2026 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Finale to take place on
Saturday, 16 May 2026. Until the end of March 2026 the National Final
Season for Eurovision 2026 is on and Radio International's team members
will be highlighting the best picks of the national finals. Chris Poppe continues the series with taking a look at
National
Finals of the last seven days.
