Kateryna Pavlenko - the Voice of GO_A (Ukraine 2020 and 2021) with JP

Interview with Kateryna Pavlenko of GO_A (Ukraine 2020 and 2021): This week's interview with a Eurovision acts that as been on stage of the Eurovision Song Contest is Kateryna Pavlenko who is the voice of Ukrainian Group GO_A. They were selected to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song "Solovey". Due to the Corona Pandemic that hit the globe in 2020 the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was cancelled, however, GO_A kept the right to represent Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, however, with another song called "Shum" which came 5th in the Grand Final.
The Interview Team of Radio International met Kateryna at the Madrid Eurovsion Pre Party 2024 and you can hear this interview on the show this week.

Eurovision Weekend 2024:  The first Eurovision event after the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 itself if the Eurovision Weekend 2024 out of Hamburg hosted by the Hamburg branch of Eurovision Club Germany e.V.. The event will include the FanVision Song Contest 2024 where young artists from different countries perform a cover of a Eurovision Song. The organisers received about 16 entries to this contest and a jury as well as public audience of the Eurovision Weekend 2024 will vote for the performances and the winner of which will decide in which country the Eurovision Weekend 2025 will be held.
The Winning Act in 2023 was Germany with Mirko Bulian and Maxima Love performing their own version of "My Way" originally by Tone Sekelius from Sweden's Melodifestivalen. In the run up to the event, Radio International will be interviewing the contestants to showcase the artists. This week meet the final remaining participating acts from Malta, Poland and Slovenia.
In addition, not only Frank and Salman who are the brain behind the Eurovision Weekend will be joining JP in the studio but also members of the organisational team from Hamburg to give us all the details what is planned around the Eurovision Weekend 2024 in Hamburg.

Live Interview with TVORCHI (Ukraine 2023):  Following the Eurovision 2022 victory of the Ukraine with the Kalush Orchestra and the song "Stefania" - TVORCHI is following in the footsteps with the song "Heart of Steel" to represent the Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom on 13 May 2023. TVORCHI will represent Ukraine in a new way - they show that Ukrainian Music is different. If previous Ukrainian entrants GO_A and Eurovision Winner KALUSH showed more ethical music, TVORCHI represent Ukraine with electronic music. Ukraine is directly qualified for the Grand Final due to the victory in 2022 and was the first country in the 2023 National Final Season that had their national final Vidbir which took place on 17 December 2022. Tvorchi are a duo formed in 2018 by producer Andrii Hutsuliak and vocalist Jimoh Augustus Kehinde (alias Jeffery Kenny). They have released five studio albums: The Parts (2018), Disco Lights (2019), 13 Waves (2020), Road (2020) and Heart of Steel (2022).The Radio International Interview Team is extremely delighted to welcome Tvorchi live to this week's edition of Radio International for an interview to get to know Ukraine's Musical Ambassador to the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and of course we'll be listening to some of Tvorchi's music during the interview session.

EUROVISION 2023 - The National Final Season: The Most Wonderful Time of the Year has already begun - the selection process in various countries that are participating at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Livepool, United Kingdom on May 09, 11 and 13 for the Grand Final. In the run up to the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience will be playing many of the songs that are offered to the public in the many participating countries out of which the best ones will be competing in Liverpool in May.

Eurovision 2023 - The Benidorm Festival (Spain):  For the second year in a row Spain selects their entry to the Eurovision Song Contest via the Benidorm Festival concisting of two Semi Finals and a Grand Final. Chanel came out of Beniform 2022 with the song "SloMo" ranking third in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. Semi Final 1 is scheduled to take place on 31 Jan 2023, Semi Final 2 on 02 Feb 2023 and the Grand Final of the Beniform Festival takes place on 04 Feb 2023 fromPalau Municipal d'Esports, Benidorm, Spain. 18 acts were selected and one of them will be the Spanish entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool on 13 May 2023, directly qualified for the Grand Final there. To gear the fans up for the festival Radio International's Javier Leal has listened to all the 18 songs and ranked them in what he thinks should be the act to represent Spain at Eurovision 2023. Interview with Eurovision Winner Jamala (Ukraine 2016): On 17 November 2022 Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome in the Netherlands was the setting of a great Eurovision Concert with many previous winners and artists. JP has been out and about at the event and met some of the artists as part of a press moment and conducted short interviews with:

All interviews were aired on the final edition of Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience of 2022, but one. And that one interview will be airing on the show this week when Jamala talks to JP. Jamala won the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 for the Ukraine with the song "1944" when Stockholm's Golden Arena in Sweden was the home of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Since the beginning of the Russian War on Ukraine Jamala has been a very good Ambassador for her country and has been touring around the Eurovision countries as her song "1944" brought the bad history back.

Live Interview with GO_A (Ukraine 2021): All the countries have submitted their entry to the  Eurovision Song Contest 2021which is fast approaching. It scheduled for 18 May (Semi Final 1) 20 May (Semi Final 2) and the Grand Final on 22 May 2021 with 39 countries competing at the Ahoy Arena of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In the Run-Up to the World's biggest music competition Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience is inviting the artists from the Eurovision Class of 2021 and after Blind Channel from Finland, Jendrik from Germany and Tornike Kipiani from Georgia, Radio International is pleased to have the next act from the Eurovision Class 2021 - GO_A.  The Ukrainian group was already selected in 2020 to represent the Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Solovey". Sadly the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was cancelled due to the Corona Pandemic. However, GO_A are selected again to represent Ukraine in 2021 with the song "Noise". Radio International will be chatting with the members of the group on this week's edition of Radio International.

Due to Corona Pandemic that hit the Earth in 2020 and still forces countries to a total lockdown Radio International has started the second series of the EUROVISION LOCKDOWN which are two extra live shows of Eurovision madness on Saturdays and Sundays for the time of the Corona Lockdown in the United Kingdom that started on Saturday 09 January 2021.

The Team of Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience thought of easing the tough times with two additional Eurovision radio shows on Saturdays and Sundays. The idea is to entertain the listeners and fans with lots of Eurovision music of the 66 year history of the Eurovision Song Contest plus new music the Eurovision artists have released after their performance in the contest and most of all also the music requests of the listeners and fans.

In the last series from March till June 2020 the show became popular and fans joined JP and the Radio International Team to present themed hours. We would like to continue on this in the second series.  Fans can actively take part in the show to join JP and his team in the studio via a SKYPE phone call live on air to talk about their thoughts and request their favourite song which does not need to be a Eurovision song.

The shows are live via Castlepoint FM and Run FM in the United Kingdom but available also via the Radio International Facebook Group "Eurovision Radio International" where you can find the chatroom. First Hour:
THE EUROVISION HAPPY HOUR:  JP will start in the first hour with some Eurovision Classics, your listener's requests and new material of Eurovision artists that have reached the Radio International Tower of Eurovision Power.  Also revisiting a Eurovision Song Contest and play five songs from a particular year.

Second Hour:
EUROVISION SPOTLIGHT XXL:  You and Me:  Radio International's Ross Bennett rejoins JP in the studio for the third part in the series where Ross selected a set of ten Eurovision songs that contain "You and me" in the lyrics. Looking forward to a cheerful hour with Ross on the Eurovision Lockdown once again.

Third Hour: 
EUROVISION SPOTLIGHT XXL: Eurovision entries that won the Jury's Vote or the Televote but did not became the Eurovision Winner. Marc Gehring rejoins JP via SKYPE for an hour of entries to the Eurovision Song Contest in the last decade that won the Jury's Vote or the Televote but did not win Eurovision.

Fourth Hour: 
EUROVISION SPOTLIGHT XXL: My Top Ten Ukrainian Eurovision Songs:  A secret Eurovision Fan from the United Kingdom will be joining JP in the studio via SKYPE to co-present her ten favourite songs from Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest. Looking forward to hearing hearing her Top Ten from Ukraine.

Interview with Sanna Nielsen (Sweden 2014):  In the Corona series of live interviews Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience is reaching out to a number of artists from the world of the Eurovision Song Contest but also from the national finals. Over the last weeks we had an incredible success with having a number a great artists sharing an hour with Radio International's Interview Team such as Katrina of Katrina and the Waves, Eldar Gasimov (Ell and Nikki), Nicki French, Rainer from Wind, Jalisse, James Newman, Senhit, Serhat, Vanessa Amarosi, Claudia Faniello, Lesley Roy, Brooke, Martina Majerle of Quartissimo, Miriam Christine just to mention a few.  

This week Radio International's Interview Team JP and John Dawton are being joined via SKYPE by Sanna Nielsen who represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. The contest took place in a ship yard of Copenhagen, Denmark. The song "Undo" reached a very respectable third place after The Netherlands and the winner Austria by Conchita Wurst.

Sanna tried seven times to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest and finally in 2014 it was her time as she won Sweden's Melodifestivalen 2014 which then is the ticket to Eurovision. Sanna also has hosted Melodifestivalen 2015 and has been the regular host of the Swedish Summer Sing-a-long shows Allsang pa Skansen. Other Melodifestivalen entries by Sanna that deserve a mention is her runner up position in 2008 called "Empty Room" and the Number 4 in 2011 called "I'm in love" which are both fans'.Let's find out more from Sanna on the interview session this week on Radio International - the Ultimate Eurovision Experience.

The Interview Team of Radio International is very much looking forward to having Sanna Nielsen on the show for a chat.

Junior Eurovision 2020 will take place in Warsaw, Poland after the victory of young Viki Gabor  who won in 2019 in Poland with the song “Superhero”. The contest will be staged on 29 November 2020 with Germany debuting and not taking part in 2020 are Albania, Armenia, Australia, Ireland, Italy, North Macedonia, Portugal and Wales.
13 countries have confirmed participation, Belarus, France, Georgia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Spain and Ukraine.

Performances: Due to the Corona Pandemic a new way had to be found to stage Junior Eurovision 2020. This will be the first time that the contest will be held remotely, with each artist performing from a television studio in their country of origin. To give smoothness and confidence to the competition, the 13 participating broadcasters committed themselves to giving equal conditions to each of the participants, using a similar scenario and the same technical resources. The opening protocol, interval acts and voting will be broadcast live from Studio 5 in TVP Headquarters on Warsaw, Poland.

Hosts and Venue: Ida Nowakowska-Herndon, Rafał Brzozowski and Małgorzata Tomaszewska will present the 18th edition of the Contest on 29 November 2020 from TVP Headquarters, Studio 5 in Warsaw, Poland.

Oleksandr Balabanov (JESC 2020, Ukraine)

Interview with Oleksandr Balabanov (JESC 2020, Ukraine):  Oleksandr has won the national selection in the Ukraine to represent his country at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 from Warsaw, Poland. He will sing the song "Vidkryvai (Open up)". Radio International in collaboration with Alain Forrotti from Belgian Radio reached out for the young singing stars to have an interview since the Corona Pandemic does now allow any travel of the journalists.
