Senhit (San Marino 2011 and 2021) at the Eurovision 2025 Media Centre

Interview with Senhit (San Marino 2011 and 2021):  At the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel Radio International's JP bumped into Senhit while taking the tram in Basel but also had the pleasure to meet Senhit in the Media Centre of the Eurovision Song Contest and conducted a little update interview why she was in town at Eurovision. Senhit represented San Marino twice at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2011 it was with "Stand By" which failed to qualify San Marino for the Grand Final of Eurovision 2011 reaching number 16 in Semi Final 1. Her second attempt was "Adrenalina" with which Senhit qualified San Marino for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contes 2021 coming 22nd in Rotterdam. Marie Claire (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025)

Interview with Marie Claire (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025): On Sat. 08 Feb 2025 Miriana Conte and her song "Kant" (now "Serving") was selected by the jury and Maltese public to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contetest 2025 in Basel in May. Miriana successfully placed Malta in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest ranking 17th at the end of the voting sequence.
Earlier on in February 2025, Radio International conducted interviews with all the contestants at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 and more.
This week, Radio International will broadcast an interview with Marie Claire who took part for the first time in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. The song she competed with in Semi Final 1 is called "Wildflower" which unfortunately did not advance into the Grand Final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

Eurovision Weekend - FanVision Song Contest 2025:  The Eurovision Weekend 2025 took place in Malta from 11 - 13 July 2025 following the victory of Martina Fennech in FanVision 2024 representing Malta. The FanVision Song Contest is part of the Euroision Weekend, where artists representing different Eurovision Fan Clubs, the OGAEs) performing covers of the Eurovision Song Contest. Artists from 11 Eurovision Fan Clubs from across Europe tooks part in the contest: Austria, Denmark, EC and OGAE Germany,  Italy, Malta, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland. Over the next few weeks Radio International will broadcast the interviews with the participating artists and their songs. 

FanVision 2025 Song Contest Winner:  David Schuler (OGAE Germany)

Congratulations to David Schuler who represented OGAE Germany winning the FanVision Song Contest 2025 with the song  "Tous l'Univers" which was the Swiss Eurovision Song Contest 2021 entry by Gjon's Tears coming third. Listen to the interview we did with the singer before the show but also then the reaction interview after the victory. The results of the contest will appear on the show next week.

 

 

 

Loredana Pace - Malta's Biggest Eurovision Fan (OGAE Malta)

Interview with Loredana Pace - Malta's Biggest Eurovision Fan:  If you watched the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 Grand Final you saw a young lady being interviewed  by the hosts during the show as well a video footage was played all across Europe showing Malta's biggest Eurovision fans at their home. Radio International's JP went to Malta for the Eurovision Weekend 2025 and met also Loredana for an interview which you can hear on the show this week. Enjoy the bubbly, lively happy nature of Loredana. 

The Eurovision Spotlight: The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 - Eurovision's Magic Numbers:   With  the start of the Summer 2025 the Eurovision Spotlight Team Members decided to continue where the left off last year at the end of summer with Eurovision's Magic Numbers. Enjoy this unique way of featuring the songs of the Eurovision Song Contest on the show. The Irish Master of Speech Dermot Manning will be continuing the series this week.

Eurovision Spotlight - The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 - National Final Season: Sweden will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 which will be the 68th contest in its history coming once again from the Malmoe Arena, Malmoe, Sweden on 07 & 09 May 2024 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday 11 May 2024. Many participating countries to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 are holding their selection shows across Europe and each week on Radio International we take a look at the ongoing selection processes and play some of the highlights from the National Finals and songs that actually will be selected to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmoe. Dermot Manning will be reviewing the selection processes over the last week and you hear some of the songs on the show this week.

Eurovision Song Contest – Das deutsche Finale 2024: Live Interview with German Finalists.  Like in previous years Radio International reaches out to interview some of the acts from the German National Final which in 2024 comprises of nine acts which will be competing for the ticket to Malmoe to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmoe on 11 May 2024. Among the acts is also former German entry Max Mutzke who reached 8th place for Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 in Istanbul, Turkey with the song "Can't wait until tonight". Will he do the race again or one of the other acts: Bodine Monet, Marie Reim, Ryk, Floryan, Galant, Isaak, Leona or NinetyNine. Radio International this week will be previewing the songs of The German National Final will be bradcast Friday, 16 Feb 202 at 2205 hours on ARD.

Melodifestivalen 2024 - Heat 2 Allstarz

Melodifestivalen 2024 - Heat 2: 2624 songs were submitted to Swedish Television (SVT) for Melodifestivalen 2024. The selection was narrowed down to 30 acts which were distributed onto five heats. 12 songs will be competing in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2024 on 06 Mar 2024 in Stockholm's Friends Arena. The winner of that show will then represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. On 03 Feb 2024 saw the first of five heats taking place and with that starting the Melodifestivalen 2024 Roadshow. Radio International's JP and Ludvig were in Gothenburg at Heat 2 having had the pleasure of chatting with all six acts during the rehearsals and after the live broadcast. This week on the show listen to and interview with Liamoo who qualified directly to the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2024 with the song "Dragon". Maria Sur also won a place in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2024 after winning the Heat 2 voting and will perform her song "When you are gone" in Stockholm. Place 3 was Dear Sarah with the song "The Silence after you" and place four was Fröken Snusk with the song "Unga & fria" of which both will compete in the Semi Final of Melodifestivalen 2024.

Interview with Senhit (San Marino 2011 and 2021): Surprise guest at the recent edition of OGAE Germany's annual convention 2024 in January in Munich was Senhit. She represented San Marino twice at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2011 it was with "Stand By" which failed to qualify San Marino for the Grand Final of Eurovision 2011 reaching number 16 in Semi Final 1. Her second attempt was "Adrenalina" with which Senhit qualified San Marino for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contes 2021 coming 22nd in Rotterdam. Radio International's Marc and JP had the pleasure to meet Senhit once again for an update on her career and her European Tour plus more. The Summer 2023 is behind us and Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience is looking forward to the National Final Season of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 that is starting real soon. Sweden had its 7th victory with Loreen winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom with the song "Tattoo" equalling with Ireland plus becoming the second winner to the win Eurovision twice after Johnny Logan.

Sweden will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 which will be the 68th contest in its history coming once again from the Malmoe Arena, Malmoe, Sweden on 07 & 09 May 2024 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday 11 May 2024. In view of Sweden once again being the host of Eurovision after 2016 the Team of Radio International will look at the history of Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest that over the years really added amazing songs to the fans' music collections.

Also this week we have interview clips with from the Melodifestivalen Weekend 2023 (MelFstWknd) Senhit who represented San Marino in 2011 with the song "Stand by" and then again in 2021 with the song "Adrenalina" and from the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, TuralTuranX (Azerbaijan 2023).

Further from the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2023: The Mentors. The Mentors (Paul Giordimaina, Ludwig Galea, Mike Spiteri, Moira Stafrace) are former Eurovision entrants from Malta who have been advising the Malta Eurovision contestants how to go through the national competition. The Busker won and represented Malta at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool. Paul Giordimaina together with Georgina represented Malta at Eurovision in 1991 with the song "Could it be" coming 6th. Mike Spiteri represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 with the song "Keep me in mind" coming 10th. Then Ludwig Galea together with Julie performed "On again ... Off again" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 coming 12th and finally Moira Stafrace with her husband Chris represented Malta at Eurovision 1994 coming 5th with the song "More than love". Chris sadly passed away in Feb 2022. JP had the big pleasure to meet the Mentors just before the show for an interview as well as a separate interview with Moira as she represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 together with Chris.

Also JP will be joined by David Mann for the Eurovision Birthday File and Eurovision Coverspot. The Eurovision Spotlight is presented by Ross Bennett. It is the new series of the Eurovision Spotlight as after the Summer Feature - The Double 3s and as a Radio International Tradition in the last quarter of the year the Team of Radio International takes a look back the upcoming host nation's Eurovision history. With Loreen winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Tattoo" for Sweden, Sweden will be hosting Eurovision 2024 and the National Final Season has already begun. The Roop (Lithuania 2020 and 2021)
at the Madrid PreParty 2022

Interview with The Roop (Lithuania 2020 and 2021):  The Madrid Eurovision Pre-Party 2022 took place on the Easter Weekend in April 2022 Among the many acts invited who represented their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 there were also some special invitations to perform their Eurovision entries during this two evening event. Last week Radio International already broadcast an interview with Anabel (Spain 1995) and this week The Roop will be on the show, who talked to JP and Alexander at the Madrid Pre-Party 2022.The Roop won their national final in Lithuania in 2020 and would have been their country's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song "On Fire". As a matter of fact, the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was cancelled due to the Corona Pandemic. Luckily, the Roop re-entered their National Final in 2021with the song " Discotheque". They won that national final and represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, reaching Number 8  Listen to this interview on the show this week.

Eurovision Song Contest 2022 - Post Eurovision Depression (PED) Cure: Dose 12 of the PED Cure is on the way with Dr. JP and his nurses. After two Semi Finals and an amazing Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 huge CONGRATULATIONS goes to the Kalush Orchestra for winning the 66th Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Stefania" receiving the highest public vote ever in the history of the contest.
