Eurovision Concert "Het Grote Songfestivalfeest" In Amsterdam, 15 Dec 2019

 




"Het Grote Songfestivalfeest" = Eurovision Concert takes place in Amsterdam Sunday 15 Dec 2019 with an amazing list of former Eurovision Winners and participants. A live band will be accompanying the Eurovision singers throughout the show which will take place in the Ziggo Dome of Amsterdam. It is a co-production of Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS and PilotStudio. Further the concert will be recorded and broadcast on Dutch TV channel NPO3 on 01 January 2020 to ring in the year that the Netherlands will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019:  The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 was staged in the Gliwice Arena in Gliwice, Poland. 19 participating countries met on Sunday, 24 November 2019 to sing their songs and with this passing important messages to the international audience across Europe and beyond.  The 17th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was won by Poland's Viki Gabor with the song "Superhero" and with this Poland achieved that what never happened at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest before - winning twice in a row. Congratulations from the Team of Radio International. In the run up to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 Radio International devoted a big part of the weekly show to the biggest international music contest for the kids. Last week, David Mann and JP from Radio International were in Gliwice to bring you coverage of the event. In last week's show you heard the gallery of the Winners of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest wihich started in 2003 all the competing entries in alphabetical order per country and some Junior Eurovision highlights over the years. The 17th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be staged in the Gliwice Arena, Poland.

In 2018, Poland won with Roxana and the song "Anyone I want to be" and a decision was taken by Polish Broadcaster TVP to stage the 2019 edition in Gliwice. In the run up to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 Radio International devoted a big part of the weekly show to the music contest for the kids. This week, David Mann and JP from Radio International are in Gliwice to bring you coverage of the event. In this week's show you will hear the gallery of the Winners of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest wihich started in 2003 plus of course you will hear all the competing entries in alphabetical order per country and some Junior Eurovision highlights over the years.

Interview with Ira Losco (Malta 2002 and 2016): The OGAE Denmark's annual Fanclub Meeting took place on 02 November 2019 in Aarhus, Denmark with the participation of Eurovision Winner 2012 Loreen (Sweden 2012), Ira Losco from Malta, Tamara Todevska (North Macedonia 2019), Lake Malawi (Czech Republic 2019) and Jeanette Bonde (Denmark 2019, Backing Vocals).  Radio International's JP interviewed some of the artists and this week we start airing the interview with Ira Losco from Malta who represented Malta twice at the Eurovision Song Contest. First time she almost won the contest with the song "7th Wonder"which came second to Latvia's Marie N. Then Ira returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 with the song "Walk on Water" which came 12th in Stockholm. In 2018, Maltese broadcaster PBS decided to use the winner of the X-Factor to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The same will be the case for 2020. Ira Losco is now judge for the second season of the X-Facor in Malta. Together with her three colleagues judges that Michela Pace is the best act to send to Tel Viv representing Malta at Eurovision 2019 with the song "Chameleon" which came 14th. JP chatted with Ira a bit about her career and of course her current role as judge in Malta's X-Factor. Enjoy the interview on the show this week.

Live Interview with Michael Rice (United Kingdom 2019): Following from last week's interview Radio International aired with Michael Rice done at EUROBASH 2019 in Leeds at the beginning of October. Literally ane hour before the show Radio International was contacted by Michael Rice's Management informing us of Michael's latest song "Somebody" which is on release on 15 November 2019 on all the major downloading and streaming platforms. Michael came onto the show live to chat about this new song and upcoming musical plans. This week enjoy this live interview with the charming UK representative to the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 - Michael Rice who performed the song "Bigger than us" penned by John Lundvik from Sweden.

Interview with Michael Rice (United Kingdom 2019): The OGAE UK's annual edition of EUROBASH took place on 12 October 2020 in Leeds, United Kingdom with the participation of over 180 national and international plus four Eurovision artists were invited to attend the convention. Justs (Latvis 2016), Esther Hart (Netherlands 2003), Michael Rice (United Kingdom 2019 and Eurovision Winner 1992 Linda Martin (Ireland 1983 and 1992). Last week Radio International aired an interview with Eurovision Winner 1992, Linda Martin. This week enjoy the interview with the charming UK representative to the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 - Michael Rice who performed the song "Bigger than us" penned by John Lundvik from Sweden. Unfortunately, this year's UK entry became last in the Grand Final at Number 26.  Radio International's JP, Chris and Salman met the charming singer for an interview during EUROBASH 2019 in Leeds.  Our Chatroom - Chat with the Eurovision Fan Community during the live show on Wednesdays from 2000 - 2300 hours CET. This is how it works:

  • In order to listen to the show you need to click on the SOUND ICON below the chat room and select Play Radio. The current live show should now be playing and 
  • Start chatting while listening to the show.

The show will be available on the website of Malta's RADIO105 and via TUNEIN, as well as on Castlepoint FM in the United Kingdom via their TUNEIN Channel and will be relayed on the Facebook Group of Eurovision Radio International .
