Live Interview with Tim Schou of A Friend in London (Denmark 2011):
Some 11years ago Denmark was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 by the group A Friend in London who were fronted by Tim Schou who will be the live guest on Radio International's Interview Hour this week. The song "A New Tomorrow" came 5th in the Grand Final of the contest and A Friend in London continued for a few more months before they broke up and Tim continued on other musical projects. The Radio International Interview Team is looking froward to chat with Tim about his time at Eurovision but also what happened to his career after the event as well as what's in the future for him.


Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022:  The 20th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to take place on 11 December 2022 following the victory of Armenia in the 2021 edition with Malena and the song "Qami Qami".

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022  will be held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex. This will be the second time that Armenia hosts the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, the first being in 2011 from the same venue.

Sixteen countries will participate in the contest with The United Kingdom returning after a sixteen-year absence, while Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Germany and Russia will not take part.

Participating countries are: Albania, Armenia, France, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

As most of the countries have already selected their entry to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Radio International will get the fans in the mood introducing the songs to the audience but also playing some of the highlights of the previous editions of the contest.

Live Interview with Sidsel Ben Semmane (Denmark 2006): The Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was the 51st edition and came from the OAKA Olympic Indoor Hall in Athens, Greece with the Monsters Lordi from Finland winning with the song "Hardrock Hallelujah".

There was just one Semi Final and the Grand Final hosted by previous Greek Eurovision entrant Sakis Rouvas and Maria Menounos. 37 countries took part with Armania debuting and withdrawing were Austria, Serbia and Montenegro and Hungary.

Denmark was represented by Sidsel Ben Semmane who performed the song "Twist of Love" coming 18th in the Grand Final.

Shortly after Eurovision 2006, Sidsel released her first solo album called "Where Are My Shoes?" She performs songs that were hits all over the world in the 1950s and 1960s, including "Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance)","Locomotion" and "Shout" among others.
Since 2013, she has been performing using the stage name Miss Lil' Ben and in 2017, under her new artist name Semmane, Sidsel released the single "Nobody's Prey".

Interview with Emmelie de Forest (Eurovision Winner 2013, Denmark): Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience is extremely delighted to welcome to the show Emmelie de Forest who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 for Denmark with the song "Only Teardrops" in Sweden's Malmoe Arena. Emmelie was part of the Eurovision Weekend 2021 in Stuttgart, Germany and JP, Marc and Salman conducted a very short interview before Emmelie had to rush to the airport. Radio International is very happy that Emmelie accepted the request to come onto the show for the Interview Hour this week and live. Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021:  Junior Eurovision 2021 will take place in Paris, France on 19 Dec 2021 after the victory of  Valentina with the song "J'Imagine" in 2020 for France. The song was written by Barbara Pravi who came second at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. The 19th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be staged on 19 December 2021 with 19 countries taking part:  Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain and Ukraine.

Hosts and Venue: The venue is La Seine Musicale, Paris, France and the hosts are still to be announced.

Throught the upcoming weeks in the run up to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 Radio International will get the fans in the mood playing some of the highlights of the previous editions of the contest.

Eurovision Weekend 2021 - Interview with Emmelie de Forest (Eurovision Winner 2013, Denmark), Justs (Latvia 2016) and Daniel Schuhmacher (Winner of the 6th German Pop Idols): 
The Eurovision Weekend 2021 took place on 15 - 17 Oct 2021 in Stuttgart in Germany with the participation of Eurovision Winner Emmelie de Forest who won the contest for Denmark in 2013 with the song "Only Teardrops". JP, Marc and Salman interviewed Emmelie at the Sunday Brunch of the event.

Also being part of the guest list was Justs who represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Heartbeat" coming 15th in the Grand Final. The song was written by the previous year's Latvian representative Aminata. Marc and Salman chatted with Justs backstage on Saturday Night while JP was entertaining the many Eurovision Fans with the Eurovision Disco.
 
And last but not least our third guest on the show this week is Daniel Schuhmacher who won the 6th season of Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar (DSDS) which is German Pop Idols. Daniel is a huge Eurovision Fan and would love to represent Germany at Eurovision one day. He has great vocal capabilities and after winning the German Idols has definitely the qualification to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest. Marc and Salman talked to Daniel backstage after the main show was over. Listen to all three interviews on the show this week.

The 19th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be staged on 19 December 2021 with 19 countries taking part:  Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain and Ukraine.

Hosts and Venue: The venue is La Seine Musicale, Paris, France and the hosts are still to be announced.

Throught the upcoming weeks in the run up to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 Radio International will get the fans in the mood playing some of the highlights of the previous editions of the contest.

Live Interview with Rasmussen (Denmark 2018):
The guest on Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience this week represented Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with a team of Vikings on stage performing the song "Higher Ground" coming 9th in Lisbon, Portugal. The act was fronted by Jonas Rasmussen who continued as  a solo act after his Eurovision performance. The Interview Team of Radio International is looking forward to welcoming Jonas Rasmussen back to the show for a chat on his time before, at and after Eurovision. Rasmussen released a new song at the beginning of June 2021 entitled "Stand by each other".

This week Radio International's Interview Team is being joined via SKYPE by Denmark's Fyr of Flamme (Fire and Flame) who are representing Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands after winning the Danish National Final 2021 - Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with the song "Øve os på hinanden". Denmark will be performing in Semi Final 2 of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on Thursday, 20 May 2021 as Song Number 17. 

The Interview Team of Radio International is very much looking forward to having Fyr og Flamme on the show this week for an interview and with that to get to know the the two members of group (Laurits and Jesper) and bringing them closer to the fans.

The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Kyiv, Ukraine, returning to the capital city that last hosted the show in 2005.  A total of forty-two countries compete this year on May 9th and 11th in the two Semi Finals and then in the Grand Final itself on May 13th 2017.
