Interview with Ireen Sheer (Luxembourg 1974 and 1985, Germany 1978): In November 2021 the annual convention of Eurovision Club Germany took place in the Gloria Theatre of Cologne in Germany. The Star Guest of the event was Ireen Sheer who represented Luxembourg twice when in 1974 she performed "Bye Bye, I love you" coming 4th. Then in 1985 as part of a group when Ireen Sheer, Margo, Frank Olivier, Chris & Malcolm Roberts, Diane Solomon sang "Children, Kinder, Enfants" coming 13th. Ireen, of British decent, also represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 with the song "Feuer" ranking 6th. Ireen has a large number of hits in the German Music Market from the 70s onwards and has a huge fanbase in Germany. Despite of this she recently retired from the music business.
Radio International's JP with Marc and Salman had the pleasure of an in-depth interview with Ireen Sheer which was not yet broadcast on Radio International. It will air on the show this week for you to enjoy.

Eurovision Spotlight XXL - The last placed songs in the Eurovision Song Contest (Part 4 and 5 of 5): The Eurovision Spotlight colleagues at Radio International always come up with nice ideas of themed show parts. One what was not yet done was looking at the songs the ended up last in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Following the start of the five part mini series last week with Chris Poppe, Radio International this week airs  Part 4 with Marcus Keppel-Palmer and Part 5 with Ross Bennett with more songs that came last in the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Finals.

Also JP will be joined by David Mann for the Eurovision Birthday File and Eurovision Coverspot. Then there will be some of the great new releases of Eurovision artists on the show as well as great Eurovision Classics.

Interview with Peter Urban - Commentator of ARD TV at the Eurovision Song Contest: When we watch the Eurovision Song Contest on TV each country sends to the venue a commentator to introduce the performing acts to his audience in the respective countries and their language. Peter Urban has been the commentator for German Broadcaster ARD for 25 years and retired after the 67th Eurovision Song Contest ended this year. Over the years Peter has seen many many changes and lived through many anecdotes at the contest. Radio International's Salman Tanzeem met up with Peter Urban at the Benidorm Festival 2023 (Spain's National Selection process for selecting the entry from Spain for the Eurovision Song Contest) and submitted an in-depth interview which airs on Radio International this week. Also listen to some of the Eurovision songs that mean something to Peter Urban.

Interview with Marlene Charell - Host of the Eurovision Song Contest 1983: The surprise guest of the recent edition of the OGAE Germany Convention in Munich, Germany in March was none other than Marlene Charell who hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 that came from Munich in Germany with Luxembourg winning the contest by Corinne Hermes with the song "Si la vie est cadeau". The show came from the then Rudi-Sedlmayer-Hall now called the Audi Dome, and was hosted by Marlene Charell in three languages. Also she was the show's dancing Interval Act as well. In the late 60s Marlene Charell was the Superstar and lead dancer in the Paris Lido in France. You can watch the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 by clicking here - Eurovision 1983.
JP and Salman had the pleasure and honour to meet Marlene Charell backstage at the OGAE Germany Convention 2023 and conducted an interview which you can hear on the show this week plus some of Marlene's songs and hosting moments.

Eurovision Spotlight XXL - 1 - Ten Americans that have taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest:  The Eurovision Song Contest is a music contest and show that is for connecting nations through music. Over 67 editions now have been broadcast annually and had also involvement from performers that are not European. John Dawton will be joining JP to co-host an hour of Eurovision songs that were performed by Americans.

Eurovision Spotlight XXL - The Hits of BWO: Chris Poppe will join JP to present an hour of the hits of BWO (Bodies without Organs). BWO originate in Sweden and had a huge string of hits from the 90s into the 2000s including a number of Melodifestivalen entries. Enjoy this band's great music which Chris will showcase on Radio International this week.

Eurovision Spotlight XXL - Celebrating the Year 2022: Joining JP in the studio this week is Ross Bennett for another great XXL edition of the Eurovision Spotlight. Ross thought to celebrate the Year 2022 with picking songs from the Eurovision Song Contest that either ended up at Number 22, or started at Number 22 or received 22 points or are from the Year 2022. Happy Celebrations, Ross.

Eurovision Birthday File, Coverspot and Spotlight: David Mann in Studio 3 is standing by to present to the listeners the Eurovision Birthday File looking at which artists are celebrating their birthday in this particular week and plays a selection of songs from the birthday kids. Also David presents the Eurovision Cover Spot. Always a nice part of the programme and it surprises.

Live Interview with James Fox:  In 2004, the United Kingdom was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest by a young gentleman from Wales - James Fox. The song "Hold on to our love" came 16th in the contest that was staged in Istanbul, Turkey. John and JP from Radio International will be chatting with James about his career past and present and also his participation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 and his time in Istanbul. But also what he is doing nowadays and what is planned in his musical future. 


Eurovision Spotlight XXL:  John Dawton's Favourite Eurovision Top Ten: Radio International's Interview Guru John Dawton will be joining JP for an hour to present his ten favourite Eurovision Song Contest entries. John has a very special taste on music and especially in entries to the Eurovision Song Contest which he would like to share with the listeners on this week's edition of Radio International.

Eurovision Birthday File, Coverspot and Spotlight: David Mann in Studio 3 is standing by to present to the listeners the Eurovision Birthday File looking at which artists are celebrating their birthday in this particular week and plays a selection of songs from the birthday kids. Also David presents the Eurovision Cover Spot. Always a nice part of the programme and it surprises. Tom Carr returns this week with the Eurovision Spotlight and continues the series of Double Threes where he picks three songs from two Eurovision member countries.
