The Eurovision Song Contest 2018 was staged in Lisbon, Portugal on 08, 10 and 12 May 2018 with Israel winning the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest. The Eurovision Microphone Trophy went to Netta for the song "Toy" receiving a combined vote from the Jury and the Televote of 529 points.

CONGRATULATIONS to Netta and Israel for the victory! 

Radio International's team was on location in Lisbon and met many of the artists and conducted interviews which you will hear on the weekly shows serving as PED Cure. This week's edition of Radio International is PED Cure Dose 3 including interviews with ZIBBZ (Swizterland 2018),  Christabelle (Malta 2018) and the Backing Vocalists of Christabelle who are amazing artists in their own right in Malta. Plus there will be Eurovision News, Birthday File, Cover Spot and our Experts will be reviewing the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 as part of the Eurovision Spotlight.

Eurovision 2018: Interview with ZIBBZ (Switzerland)

The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Lisbon, Portugal, with Salvador Sobral's victory in 2017 finally bringing the Contest to a country that had waited no less than 53 years to win the trophy.

A total of forty-three countries compete this year on May 8th and 10th in the two Semi Finals and then in the Grand Final itself on May 12th 2018.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2018 is just around the corrner with the rehearsals starting in Lisbon at the end of this month.  Europe's biggest singing competition takes place in Lisbon, Portugal May 08, 10 and 12. The last Eurovision Preview Event 2018 took place in Madrid, Spain on 20 and 21 April 2018 with the participation of over 20 countries of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 including also previous Spanish Eurovision entries.  The Team of Radio International were there and conducted some interviews with the artists. You will hear some of these interviews on the show this week and in the weeks to come.
This week Demot Manning closes out the current series of the Eurovison Spotlight and takes a look at the Western Region of Europe at Eurovision 2018. Join in this Wednesday 25 April 2018 live from 2000 - 2300 pmCET for Eurovision Radio International this week.

All the 43 entries for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 have been selected. Europe's biggest singing competition takes place in Lisbon, Portugal May 08, 10 and 12. Radio International's David Mann and JP were in Riga, Latvia last weekend where the first Eurovision 2018 Preview event took place with the participation of Mikolas Josef (Czech Republic 2018), Laura Rizzotto (Latvia 2018), Ieva Zasimauskaite (Lithuania 2018), DoReDos with Filip Kirkorov (Moldiva 2018), Markus Riva (National Final Latvia 2018) and special guest from sunny Malta, Amber who represented her country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Warrior". David and JP interviewed all the participating artists in the Eurovision PreParty 2018 Riga. You will hear those interviews on the shows starting this week with Mikolas Josef.
During the event the sad news reached the many media representatives and Eurovision fans of the passing away of the first Eurovision Winner from 1956, LYS ASSIA. Radio International will broadcast a special tribute to the Grande Dame on the show this week. JP had the pleasure of meeting Lys Assia on a few occasions and in 2006 conducted an indepth interview with her you can LISTEN AGAIN here.
Eurovision Lord Marcus Keppel-Palmer will be taking a look at six more Eurovision 2018 entries which were selected recently as part of this week's Eurovision Spotlight.
