Norway's Melodi Grand Prix 2022: After four Semi Finals and a Last Chance Round Norway's broadcaster NRK organises the upcoming Grand Final of Norsk Melodi Grand Prix 2022 on 19 February 2022. The Winner of this Grand Final will be the act and the song representing Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy come May. Like in 2021, Radio International is joined by Melodi Grand Prix Specialist Robert Wahlstroem from Gothenburg in Sweden to give us a look at the competing Grand Finalists in the competition in Norway for the 19 February 2022. A good overview of the Norway's National Selection: Norsk Melodi Grand Prix 2022 can be found here. Who will follow in the footsteps of Tix who won in 2021??? May the best act win.

The next Interview Session with a Eurovision Artist will continue next week with Andrea who will be representing North Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Live Interview with NorthKid (Norway Melodi Grand Prix 2022): As the National Final Season to the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is in full swing with Albania, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic already having select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Torino, Italy to take place on 10, 12 and 14 May 2022 with the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final.
This week's guest on the show is NorthKid singing "Someone". NorthKid consists of Bilal Saab (vocal), Helge Moen (keys), Håkon Guttormsen (guitar), Sebastian Willassen (drums) and Vegard Olaussen (bass) and are one of the 21 acts competing in Norway's Melodi Grand Prix directly qualified for the Grand Final of Melodi Grand Prix in Norway and if they win that NorthKid will be awarded with the Ticket to Turin and the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Bilal of NorthKid will be joining the Radio International Interview Team as well as listening to their music during the interview.

Due to Corona Pandemic that hit the Earth in 2020 and still forces countries to a total lockdown Radio International has started the second series of the EUROVISION LOCKDOWN which are two extra live shows of Eurovision madness on Saturdays and Sundays for the time of the Corona Lockdown in the United Kingdom that started on Saturday 09 January 2021.

The Team of Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience thought of easing the tough times with two additional Eurovision radio shows on Saturdays and Sundays. The idea is to entertain the listeners and fans with lots of Eurovision music of the 66 year history of the Eurovision Song Contest plus new music the Eurovision artists have released after their performance in the contest and most of all also the music requests of the listeners and fans.

In the last series from March till June 2020 the show became popular and fans joined JP and the Radio International Team to present themed hours. We would like to continue on this in the second series. Fans can actively take part in the show to join JP and his team in the studio via a SKYPE phone call live on air to talk about their thoughts and request their favourite song which does not need to be a Eurovision song.

The shows are live via Castlepoint FM and Run FM in the United Kingdom but available also via the Radio International Facebook Group "Eurovision Radio International" where you can find the chatroom. Below are the details and links to the broadcasts. Can't join us live? Don't worry - all the shows will be available as additional PODCASTS via our radiointernational.podbean.com channel or our Radio International Mixcloud Channel.

Also this week JP will be joined by Robert Wahlstroem from Gothenburg in Sweden to take a look at Norway's Fifth Semi Final of Melodi Grand Prix 2021 and he also has some favourite songs from Norway for you to enjoy.

MELODIFESTIVALEN SPECIAL: My Melodifestivalen Top Ten: Not only has Norway a huge national final process but also perhaps even bigger than Norway is Sweden's Melodifestivalen in which the country selects their entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. The second Semi Final of Melodifestivalen 2021 scheduled for Sat 13 Feb 2021. Salman Tanzemm rejoins JP in the studio via SKYPE to present an hour of his Top Ten Melodifestivalen entries. Looking forward to Salman's choice of Sweden's biggest music event there is.

THE HAPPY EUROVISION HOUR. JP will start in the first hour with some Eurovision Classics, your listener's requests and new material of Eurovision artists that have reached the Radio International Tower of Eurovision Power. Also revisiting a Eurovision Song Contest and plays five songs from a particular year. Saturday 06 Feb 2021 marks also the official start of Melodifestivalen 2021 and participant Paul Rey joins JP for a Live Interview about his latest entry to the competition "The Missing Piece". He reached 6th place in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2020.

Second Hour:
MY EUROVISION TOP TEN: Following the first in the series where Eurovision personalities are co-hosting an hour with JP together and to present their ten most favourite song from the Eurovision Song Contest, this week JP is joined by Maltese singer Glen Vella. Glen represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "One Life" in Duesseldorf, Germany. We are thrilled to find out how Glen's Top Ten of the Eurovision Song Contest looks like.

Starting off the series is with a bang and JP will be joined by the Winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 live from Azerbaijan as Eldar Gasimov will be co-presenting his Top Ten favourite Eurovision Song Contest songs. Eldar together with singing partner Nikki won the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 for Azerbaijan as Ell and Nikki with the song "Running Scared".

Third Hour:
EUROVISION 2021: Since it is the National Final Season to the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 which will take place in Rotterdam's Ahoy May 18, 20 and 22 there is now plenty of time at hand to introduce to the fans the songs from various countries' selection process'. Anett together with her singing partner Fredi came second in the Estonian National Final called Eesti Laul with the song "Write about me". Shortly after her participation in the national final the album entitled "Morning After" was released. Due to Corona Pandemic that hit the Earth in 2020 and still forces countries to a total lockdown Radio International starts the second series of the EUROVISION LOCKDOWN which are two extra live shows of Eurovision madness on Saturdays and Sundays for the time of the Corona Lockdown in the United Kingdom starting on Saturday 09 January 2021.

The Team of Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience thought of easing the tough times with two additional Eurovision radio shows on Saturdays and Sundays. The idea is to entertain the listeners and fans with lots of Eurovision music of the 66 year history of the Eurovision Song Contest plus new music the Eurovision artists have released after their performance in the contest and most of all also the music requests of the listeners and fans.

In the last series from March till June 2020 the show became popular and fans joined JP and the Radio International Team to present themed hours. We would like to continue on this in the second series. Fans can actively take part in the show to join JP and his team in the studio via a SKYPE phone call live on air to talk about their thoughts and request their favourite song which does not need to be a Eurovision song.

The shows are live via Castlepoint FM and Run FM in the United Kingdom but available also via the Radio International Facebook Group "Eurovision Radio International" where you can find the chatroom. Join the Eurovision Fan Community listening to the shows and chat with the fans three hours every Saturday and Sunday. The Wednesday editions of the show remains the same as always.

First Hour: JP will start in the first hour with some Eurovision Classics, your listener's requests and new material of Eurovision artists that have reached the Radio International Tower of Eurovision Power. Also 5 from 1 Year featured 2005.

Second Hour: JP will be joined by the Irish Voice from Dublin, Dermot Manning for an hour of the history of Bosnia at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Third Hour: Since it is the National Final Season to the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 which will take place in Rotterdam's Ahoy May 18, 20 and 22 there is now plenty of time at hand to introduce to the fans the songs from various countries' selection process'. This week JP will be joined by Robert Wahlstroem from Gothenburg in Sweden to take a look at Norway's First Semi Final of Melodi Grand Prix 2021 and he also has some favourite songs from Norway for you to listen to.

Fourth Hour: JP will have a mix of Eurovision Hits, Listener's requests and new material from Eurovision performers plus five songs from the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

Live Interview with Mariette (Melodifestivalen 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020): Also in 2021, in the Corona series of live interviews continues as Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience is reaching out to a number of artists from the world of the Eurovision Song Contest but also from the national finals. During 2020 the Team of Radio International had an incredible success with having a number a great artists sharing an hour with Radio International's Interview Team and the fans. This week Radio International's Interview Team JP and John Dawton are being joined via SKYPE by Mariette from Sweden. Mariette has made it to the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen four times. Melodifestivalen is Sweden's National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2015, Mariette reached third place in the Final with "Don't stop believing". In 2017, it was "A Million Years" that came 4th and in 2018 the popular Swedish singer reached Number 5 with "For you" and in 2020 a Number 10 for "Shout it out". Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience in 2021. Further she is known to the fans of the Eurovision Song Contest as she was the Spokesperson from Sweden to pass the votes at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. There is more and we find from Mariette herself during this week's interview session.

KEiiNO (Norway 2019) with JP

Interview with KEiiNO (Norway 2019 and Melodi Grand Prix 2021): At the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, Norway's Trio KEiiNO won the public vote by far at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv with the song "Spirit in the Sky". KEiiNO are Tom Hugo, Alexandra and Fred and since their entry at Eurovision they have been touring around the Eurovision World. The group have been busy bees since their success in Israel and released new material on a regular basis. The latest news out of Norway is that KEiiNO will be competing in the Norwegian selection to the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in the Semi Final 1 in Melodi Grand Prix 2021 with the song "Monument". The Team of Radio International is extremely happy to have the please to chat with Alessandra, Tom Hugo and Fred live on Radio International on this week's edition of the show.
